How To Connect Xbox 360 To The Internet?
Well, I just purchased a XBOX 360 for my 10 years old nephew, but I don’t know how to connect XBOX 360 to the Internet. How do you connect X BOX to the Internet? Do you need to buy any accessories before playing online? Do you need to pay subscriptions(money) for every month?
Additional Informations:
I have DSL/Verizon.
Thank you for your consdieration.

There are two main ways:
Wireless and corded.
Wireless:
If your nephew’s house has a wireless router, or someone else around his house (that is willing to let him gain access) Is near, you can buy the network adapter for the 360. You can get it at just about any gamestop, for about $100. It’s a little steep, but worth it. You can check out the link below for a good video from CNET on how to hook up the network adapter.

Corded:
For this one, you’re gonna need an internal or external modem on your computer, and go to the link below to figure out which option is best for you.
http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/xbox360/XboxLive/GetConnected/SetupaHomeNetwork/GatewayConnection.aspx
This link will tell you where to go to learn how to set up your 360 console.
After you do that, look on the left of the screen and under ‘set up a home network’ click the option that you chose, and follow the easy steps.
If you still need more help, you could call Microsoft Xbox help at 1-800-469-9269
Or you can take a look at the connectivity wizard page:

Hope I helped.

you will need to connect the Xbox to the DSL box with an Ethernet cord (which looks like a telephone wire except for a larger plug), that would probably be the cheapest option. you cold also get a wireless router if you want (i would only do this if you have/are getting a laptop or something else that uses wireless internet) and connect that to your computer and buy a wireless adapter for the xbox ($100), it then would not have to be connected to the DSL box.
The xbox live gold (playing online with other people) you have to pay for monthly. you can eather buy a year long for about $50 or a month for about $7 or imbetween.
To play live and talk to other people you also have to have a headset which could have came with the xbox and alot of times does.
if you do get live for your nephew i will warn you that there are older people that can be very immature and use some not so nice language. he can play it without live too, although its not as fun.
I hope I could help!
Happy Holidays!

you just connect your network cable that’s connected to the router to your xbox 360.
If you want online play, the console comes with the 30-day trial. After that, you will need to pay for the subscription by credit card thru your xbox or you can get the prepaid card at any game retailers.

You just connect the router to you xbox with a usb cord. also xbox live (online play) is just fifty dollars a year so it is well worth the money
